Travel + Life Tip #9: Capture the moment in more ways than one.
Yeah, It’s a little cliche, but you’ll look back later and be glad you have something to look back on. It feels so surreal sometimes when we’re standing in the space of new and exciting things. Nothing around us but wonder and awe. Some of us stay ready with camera in hand for any opportunity to present itself. Others forget to pull out their devices to snap a pic. We want to save the memory as best as possible, but we also want to be present in the moment. The good news is, you can do both! There’s more than one way to capture a moment. If the moment comes just as fast as it goes, 10 seconds or less, recognize what’s happening and give your full attention to it. Don’t worry about trying to beat your previous record for how fast you can pull your phone out. If the moment is truly significant to you and you focus your attention on it, you will remember it. You won’t be able to show it off, but you can talk about it with enough enthusiasm to paint the picture. If the moment is one that lasts a while, pick the camera up for just a minute and then return your attention to the moment. Pictures mean more when you can be reminded by them of where you were, mentally and physically when they were taken. If you’re afforded the opportunity to make the visual last outside of your memory, take advantage if it! But if not, that’s okay! There’s more than one way to make it last forever. #sarahnsays
